Square Enix Announces Auction Dates for Symbiogenesis NFTs

Game developer Square Enix, known for popular titles like Final Fantasy, has announced the auction dates for its upcoming Symbiogenesis non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The company revealed in a social media post that the NFTs will be sold in three batches.

The first batch will be auctioned from November 27-28, followed by the second batch from November 30 to December 4, and the third batch from December 2 to December 3. Symbiogenesis is an upcoming blockchain game developed by Square Enix and features Ethereum-based NFTs.

According to the game’s documents, the first phase of the auction will only allow “stakeholders” to participate, indicating that only early investors will have the opportunity to bid during the November 27-28 phase. The second and third phases will be open to participants in an “allowlist entry campaign.”

The allowlist entry campaign took place from November 7 to November 21, where collectors were invited to participate in quizzes and a “treasure hunt” within a prototype version of the Symbiogenesis game world. Participants earned NFT “relics” and accumulated points towards participating in phase 2 of the auction.

In phase 2, the top 50 highest-scoring participants will be allowed to acquire NFTs, along with 40 random participants ranked 51st to 300th. The remaining participants will have the opportunity to bid on items in phase 3.

Symbiogenesis is described by Square Enix as a “narrative-unlocked NFT entertainment” game and is set to launch on December 21.

Square Enix, the creator of the popular Final Fantasy series, has sold over 173 million units of its games. The company previously launched Final Fantasy NFT trading cards on March 31 and announced a partnership with Web3 infrastructure provider Elixir in April.
